In a gesture of goodwill and community service, the Gambia Transport Service Company (GTSC) distributed Iftar meals to passengers at its Kanifing depot on Wednesday, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility during the holy month of Ramadan.
Renowned for providing safe and reliable transportation across The Gambia, GTSC has consistently prioritized customer satisfaction. This year, the company extended its dedication beyond transport services by offering meals to fasting passengers traveling on its buses.
Speaking to the press, GTSC Managing Director Seedy Kanyi emphasized the company’s commitment to giving back to the community, underscoring its role beyond transportation.
“This is a tradition for GTSC. During Ramadan, we take this opportunity to express our appreciation to our valued customers. It is because of their trust and support that we continue to thrive. This gesture is our way of thanking them and encouraging their continued patronage,” he stated.
He further highlighted that the initiative aligns with the company’s mission to foster kindness and social solidarity.
“The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us that providing food for a fasting person carries great rewards. This initiative is in line with Islamic teachings, and we are simply reviving this meaningful tradition,” Kanyi added.
GTSC continues to serve as a cornerstone of public transportation in The Gambia, offering a range of services, including a dedicated school bus program and reliable daily transport across various destinations. The company reaffirmed its dedication to both service excellence and community support, ensuring that its impact extends beyond the roadways.
