GRTS Granted More Time To Present Its Reports

The National Assembly Public Enterprises Committee (PEC) has granted GRTS until 25th July to present itself activity report and financial statement for scrutiny.
The State Broadcaster could not present its 2020 activity report and financial statement as scheduled earlier today at the parliament.
Malick Jeng, GRTS Managing Director said the the 2021 presidential and 2022 parliamentary elections led to the delay of their reports; before appealling to the committee to reconsider a new date for the task to enable them present all their reports.

The chirman of the committee Lamin J Sanneh advised the institution not to allow a thing like this to happen in future.
“GRTS is a very important insitutions which needs to be accountable,” he said.
Reacting to the delay, Lamin Ceesay, NAM for Kiang West expressed his disspointment in the matter.
“It’s so unfortunate that an insitutions like the State Broadcaster are not able to present their 2020 activity report, which is a big lapse for them,” he said.
