Adama John, the youth president of the Gambia Party for Democracy and Progress (GPDP) has asked the president to sack all the NPP leadership in the Kanifing Municipal Council and West Coast Region after a heavy defeat in the local government election.
“I cannot understand having top executive members in West Coast Region, especially ministers. With all that you have this kind of defeat in KM and the West Coast? If I was President Barrow I would have called them for questioning. That is the truth. They were given everything and you lost the election in your own area, that is a big question mark. They have something to explain, it’s not right. And I can tell you, the young people of NPP are the reason we have this victory.
“All these people leading us didn’t do any work. If I was President Barrow I would sack all of them and give the young people the opportunity to work. The leaders do not have more influence than the Youths now. They went and sleep with all the resources given to them and leave the youths with the responsibility and if there is a victory they want to take credit. And that is not their work. NPP should call all the coalition partners and discuss with them because if we want to continue like this I don’t see them,” he said on Kerr Fatou’s weekly show ‘Politic Kaacha’.
