Government Offers Condolences To Families Of Seven Men Who Lost Their Lives In Kerr Gallo

The Gambia government has expressed its heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the seven young men who tragically passed away on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, in Kerr Gallo, North Bank Region.

“The Government of The Gambia expresses condolences to the families and colleagues of the seven young men who tragically lost their lives on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, in Kerr Gallo, North Bank Region. The deceased were employees of BB Electrical, a subcontractor to KEI Construction Company, which is working on NAWEC’s rural electricity expansion projects.  “Police have begun an investigation into the circumstances leading to this tragic accident, and further details will be shared as the investigation progresses,” the statement from the government reads.

The statement further expressed that “The Government of The Gambia stands with the bereaved families, shares their sorrow and extends its prayers and support. The President, His Excellency Adama Barrow, sends condolences on behalf of his government and family to the families of the deceased.”

The government also called on the public to remain calm and patient while authorities carry out the investigation.

“It further directs that all health and safety protocols at workplaces must always be observed for the protection and safety of all workers. May their souls rest in peace,” they concluded.
