The elected Councillor for the Nyanga Bantang Ward of the ticket of The Gambia Democratic Congress, Wally Ndimbalan, has defected to the National People’s Party (NPP) recently.
Justifying his move, Councillor Ndimbalan said he joined GDC because there was no NPP, at the time.
“NPP is the party that should be followed. The reason I was in GDC was because there was no NPP. There was only Coalition (2016), but when I had the President had formed his own party that’s the time I left the opposition (GDC) and joined NPP,” Ndimbalan told Kerr Fatou.
Reacting to the development, the National Youth President of The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) MC Cham Jr confirmed the Councillor left the GDC.
“This is politics…Politics is like a vehicle, some will board and some will alight. The Ward Councillor left (to NPP) alone, but all his committee members are intact,” MC Cham Jr said.
Until his change of party, Wally Ndimbalan was the elected Councillor for the Nyanga Bantang Ward in the Central River Region (CRR) for the Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC).
