The Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) has announced the sacking of its Galleh Manda Ward Councilor, Abdoulie Jallow.
“The central committee of the Gambia Democratic Congress has reached a decision to expel you from the party. The party executive have noticed with regret that your activities are found to be detrimental to the aim and objectives of the party. Article 7 (7.3) (1) of the party constitution clearly states that every eligible member of the party must strive to promote the values, aims, and objectives of the party. You have failed the party in this regard.
“Therefore, we write to inform you that you are no longer a member of the GDC party and also a representative of the people of Galleh Manda Ward in the Janjanbureh Administrative Area Council under GDC ticket effective from today,” the party said in a letter to Jallow on 15th October, 2021.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that GDC expelled its elected member. In June this year, it had expelled two of its parliamentarians- Kebba Jallow for Jarra Central and Salifu Jawo, for Jokadu Constituencies.
