Gamtel Warns People to Desist From Vandalising Their Network Cables

The Gambia Telecommunications Company Limited (GAMTEL) has issued a statement warning those vandalising their network cables to desist from doing so saying; henceforth any person found wanting shall face the full force of the law.

“GAMTEL regret to inform the general public that some unscrupulous persons with malice and criminal intent are vandalizing the Company’s network cables. Gamtel has been experiencing these acts of sabotage in different areas within the KANIFING ESTATE AREA for the past weeks causing the company heavy financial losses and huge inconveniences for the Customers,” they said.

The Telecommunication Company says the latest malicious and unpatriotic act has rendered a major disruption to their customers in the Kanifing Estate area and its surroundings which they say has resulted in high maintenance costs and a significant loss of revenue to Gamtel.

GAMTEL further solicits support and cooperation from the general public especially residents of the Kanifing Estate area to report any act of vandalism of their network infrastructure.

“The information provided will be treated with confidentiality and will attract a handsome reward of D50,000.00. You are given the fullest assurance that your identity will be protected,” the statement ends.
