Gambia Teacher’s Union Ends Sit-down Strike After Agreement With Government

The Gambia Teacher’s Union has ended its Sit-down Strike after an agreement was reached with the government of the Gambia.
The Teacher’s Union will sign an agreement with the government of the Gambia today to end the sit-down Strike they embarked on last week demanding the payment of allowances.
The union represented by the Acting GS (DGS) & GTU President held a Tripartite Meeting on Saturday 7th January 2023 with the Ministry of Public Service represented by PS PMO, PS Public Service & DPS PMO, and MoBSE represented by PS MoBSE & DPS Finance MoBSE.
According to The Union, the government has agreed to act on their demands and urged teachers to go back to their classrooms effective immediately.
