The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has released an official statement providing updates on the armed robbery that occurred at the Farafenni GNPC on January 13, 2025.

The statement confirmed that the officer who sustained gunshot wounds during the attack has received prompt medical attention and is currently in stable condition. The GPF Medical Unit, under the leadership of Dr. Abdoulie Secka (DCP), reported that the injuries are not life-threatening. The officer’s swift response during the attack, including returning fire, underscores the commitment and bravery of the GPF in ensuring public safety.

Ongoing investigations have yet to yield any substantial leads regarding the suspects. However, the GPF reassures the public that efforts are being made to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

The GPF also expressed gratitude for the continued support and cooperation of the public in maintaining national security. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
