Gambia Men, Women Relay Teams Reach Finals At Islamic Games

The Gambia women and men 4×100 relay teams have reached the finals, after finishing second in round one at the 5th Islamic Games underway in Konya, Turkey.
“Our men’s 4×100 relay team are in the finals after finishing second in round 1. Meanwhile, the women’s team also qualified for the 4×100. Only 8 teams registered in the event. Thus, all going through automatically,” the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) said in a statement on Facebook today.
The Gambian contingent comprises 25 athletes participating in Judo, Athletics, Basketball 3×3, Swimming, and Para sports at the 2021 Islamic Games in Konya, Turkey ending 19thAugust 2022.
The Islamic Solidarity Games is a multinational, multi-sport event that involves the elite athletes of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation who compete in a variety of sports.
The Solidarity Games were initially created to strengthen Islamic camaraderie and reinforce the values of Islam, primarily to the youth.
