The Gambia Armed Forces Quick Reaction Force 1 (QRF) has patrolled the epicentre of Senegalese troops-MFDC separatists clash and affected villages in the Foni Kansala District.

The patrol was meant to restore confidence in the residents of the affected villages that normalcy has been restored, following the clash between the Senegalese troops in the ECOMIG mission and MFDC separatists on 24th January.
From its base at the 4 Infantry Battalion in Kanilai, QRF 1 patrolled the villages of Kampanti, Kappa, Ballen and Funtang, before returning to their base.
