FIFA, CAF presidents to visit Gambia
The presidents of world football governing body, FIFA, and the Africa football governing body, CAF, are visiting the Gambia, the Gambia Football Federation announced on Wednesday.
The President of FIFA Mr. Gianni Infantino will visit The Gambia on Monday 7th January, 2019.
Mr. Infantino, who will be on a one-day working visit is leading a high powered delegation that includes the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr. Ahmad Ahmad and the Secretary General of FIFA, Ms. Fatma Samoura amongst others.
In announcing his visit to The Gambia in a letter signed by Mr. Infantino himself and addressed to his Gambian counterpart, the Swiss-Italian said he is already looking forward to meeting the members of the Gambian football community during his visit, to sharing with us his vision of football, to hearing about our projects under FIFA’s Foreward programme, and to exchanging many ideas on how to further develop football in The Gambia, particularly through the new Foreward 2.0 development programme.
“This will undoubtedly help to strengthen and intensify the development of our sport and promotion of its values in your country,” Mr. Infantino added.
