Fafa Sanyang Fulfills Campaign Promise Despite Losing Election
By Buba Gagigo
Fafa Sanyang, the National People’s Party (NPP) candidate in Kiang Central who lost to his opponent in the April parliamentary election, donated 2 milling machines and a borehole to 3 villages in the district.
Although he lost the race, the donation is a fulfillment of a campaign promise he made during his campaign in the Kiang Central.
“This is a thank you tour. I am saying thank you to everyone who contributed to my campaign. Many people who campaigned for me wanted me to win. But it was not destined by God. We started the thank you tour in Wellingara, Sarre Ndanla, Ponkel, Wurongkang and Nemakuta here. I made promises during the campaign, I know it will be difficult to do them all at once but I will do some.
“Today (23rd May 2022), I am here to help three villages, I bought two milling machines and a borehole. Sarre Ndanla is the village that still does not have clean drinking water and uses a well that is why I gave them the borehole. For the milling machines each cost nearly D100, 00. I gave one to Bambako village and one to Nemakuta village. I did this because it was part of my campaign promises, I know I didn’t win but I just decided to fulfill some of my promises to tell all of you thank you,” Fafa Sanyang said.
All the three villages in Kiang Central that benefited thanked Fafa Sanyang for the gesture.
Fafa Sanyang was the candidate for the National People’s Party (NPP) for Kiang Central constituency in the last Parliamentary election but lost to Independent candidate Yunusa N. Bah.
