Ebrima Jawo, a former mayoral candidate for the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) for Banjul City Council, has confirmed his appointment as Executive Coordinator for Banjul City Council.
“I am appointed as the new Executive Coordinator for Banjul City, which is basically quite similar to Governor’s role. It is very similar to Governor’s role is only that the titles are different. It has nothing to do with the local councils. Basically, whatever the governors do in West Coast to URR is exactly what I do in Banjul,” Ebrima Jawo told Kerr Fatou on Wednesday.
There are also speculations about the creation of a similar role in the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC); however, we are yet to acquire information regarding the appointment for this position.
