DLEAG Arrests Two With Suspected Drugs

The Drug Law Enforcement Agency of the Gambia (DLEAG) in a statement announced arresting two suspects in possession of suspected drugs.
“DLEAG’s Wassu field office in the Central River Region (CRR) clutched [suspect 1], an adult male Gambian and a resident of Wassu for possession of a prohibited drug in contravention of the Drug Control Act 2003,” the agency said in a statement on Thursday.
The statement added that suspected 1 was apprehended on 22 December 2021 at Medina Village (CRR) during an operation that took place around 22: 50 GMT; when he was nabbed with five (5) parcels and fourteen (14) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a plastic bag.
The statement continued that another suspect was arrested on 21 December 2021 around 20:00 GMT in a village in the West Coast Region.
“In the West Coast Region, DLEAG’s Tanji field office took into custody [suspect 2], a nineteen (19) years old Gambian National and a resident of[residence withheld] for being in possession of eight (8) parcels and seventy one (71) wraps of suspected cannabis,” it said on Facebook.
Currently, the operatives of DLEAG are investigating the duo for the alleged offences.
