The Drug Law Enforcement Agency- The Gambia (DLEAG) has announced arresting six (6) suspects for drug-related offences on 17th and 20th November 2022.
DLEAG stated that its personnel have arrested a resident of Dippakunda on 17th November 2022 at around 14:42hrs onwards with a big bundle, 13 parcels, and 3 wraps of suspected Cannabis Sativa concealed in cement and white paper and placed in a black bag and a multi-colour bag respectively.
The Agency continued that they have arrested 29-year-old a resident of Batukunku in Brusubi on 20thNovember 2022 at around 12:25hrs onwards with 10 pieces of suspected Cannabis resin (hashish) concealed in a white nylon bag and wrapped in an ash-colour bag, and further placed in a black pouch bag.
“34 years old (suspect) a resident of Ndemban village was arrested by Sibanor DLEAG Station on the 20th November 2022 at around 11:25hrs onwards with (32) wraps of cannabis resin, (1) parcel and (3) wraps of suspected cannabis Sativa, which is concealed in white and brown paper respectively,” DLEAG said in a statement earlier Tuesday morning.
DLEAG further stated that 3 suspects (a 60 year-old, a 20 year-old, and another suspect) all residents of Sibanor were also arrested on 20th November 2022 at around 17:30 onwards for “obstruction” of officers in the due execution of their duties.
“All the suspects are taken into custody while further investigations continue,” DLEAG said.
