Collision Involving ECOMIG Vehicle Kills Two, Injuries 4

In a statement, the ECOMIG forces has confirmed that two Gambians died and four others sustained injuries in a collision involving its vehicle and a tricycle.
“ECOWAS mission in The Gambia deeply regrets the road traffic accident that occurred near Mariama Kunda Junction in the early hours of 5th September 2021 involving an ECOMIG vehicle and a tricycle. As a result of the collision, two Gambians on board the tricycle died, whilst four others sustained bodily injuries,” the ECOMIG spokesperson said in a statement sent to Kerr Fatou.
Earlier today, pictures emerged on social media claiming that the ECOMIG vehicle with registration number 47 GA 51 killed 4 people at the Mariama Kunda Junction last night at around 1:30am
Reports said that the soldier reportedly rammed the individuals on board a tricycle and fled the scene after the four were confirmed dead, before being subsequently rushed to Sukuta Health Centre.
