The Citizens’ Alliance (CA) has dismissed Kebba Ceesay’s recent assertion that he is a co-founder of the party, calling the claim both “inaccurate and misleading.”

Speaking on Kerr Fatou’s The Grand Bantaba last Friday, Kebba Ceesay stated that he originated the idea of forming the Citizens’ Alliance and later shared it with Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, the current leader of the party.

In a statement issued in response, CA clarified:

The Citizens’ Alliance (CA) wishes to clarify the recent claim made by Kebba Ceesay that he is a co-founder of the party. While we acknowledge that Kebba is one of the early members of CA, his claim of being a co-founder is both inaccurate and misleading. CA recognizes each of its members as equal stakeholders irrespective of how early or late they join the party. This is a democratic right that every member enjoys. However, acclaiming a status that you never acquired just to legitimize one’s claim is both unfair and unethical. We therefore strongly advise Kebba to desist from such,”

The party further expressed gratitude to Kebba Ceesay for his contributions during his time with CA, despite his resignation following allegations that the party violated its core principles.

Kebba Ceesay’s departure has drawn attention, with his claims sparking debate over his role in the party’s formation and internal dynamics.
