The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) is greatly delighted to announce that Cabinet has approved the following MoHERST cabinet papers:
Transformation of the Management Development Institute into a Civil Service University.
National Research Policy (2024 – 2029);
National Research and Innovation Fund Bill 2024; and,
Tertiary and Higher Education Trust Fund Bill 2024.
The Hon Minster and the entire MoHERST team thank the Executive for their timely approval of these documents. This will go a long way in putting systems in place for sustainable financing of tertiary and higher education in The Gambia.
Support to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship programmes in The Gambia are given prominence in these policy pronouncements and instruments.
We seize this opportunity to thank all our stakeholders for their inputs in these relevant documents which will enhance the socio-economic development of The Gambia.
