Mbemba Drammeh, a former supporter of the National People’s Party (NPP), has been released on bail following his arrest after an interview on Kerr Fatou’s weekly show, Politic Kaacha. The police set conditions for his release, which include the provision of two Gambian sureties, a bail bond of two hundred thousand dalasis, and the surrender of his passport.
During his appearance on Politic Kaacha, Drammeh made serious allegations against his former party, suggesting that he would provide further details in the coming months. His remarks sparked a strong reaction from opposition parties, who called for evidence to substantiate his claims. In response, the NPP issued a statement through Deputy Spokesperson Seedy Njie, vehemently denying the accusations.
Mbemba Drammeh was once a prominent member of the NPP, closely aligned with President Adama Barrow’s administration.
