Eyewitnesses report a terrifying incident in Cheedi Wollof, Central Badibou, North Bank Region, where heavily armed robbers reportedly attacked a shopkeeper, severing his ear, before making off with a staggering twenty-six million CFA.
Eyewitnesses recount the terrifying events this way: “The worst part of it Kerr Pateh is not far from us, they called the soldiers but they said they don’t have a car, fuel, and driver. They tried the police nothing. They entered the compound around 1:35 am with arms and one of the Senegalese was saying we should not be afraid because we come for war. They pointed guns at everyone including my brother and nephews in the compound. My younger brother wanted to escape through the back door but he met two armed robbers outside and they asked him to return to the compound or they would kill him. They bit the shopkeeper, cut his ear, and took over twenty-six mission CFA and some Dalasis (not counted). They spent about one hour at the plus at the location. There was no single military or the police to help. The armed robbers are twenty-plus armed with different weapons.”
Cheedi Wollof is located in the North Bank Region. We have contacted the police but they are yet to comment on the issue.
