Basse Area Council Vice Chairman Resigns From UDP

Yuba Jawara, the UDP Basse Area Council Vice Chairman, has in a letter dated 8th March 2023, and addressed to the Regional Secretariat of the United Democracy Party in the Upper River Region, tendered his resignation from the party with immediate effect.
“I am hereby writing this letter with a deep sense of sorrow to announce that I Yuba Jawara has resigned from the United Democratic Party (U.D.P) as member of the party with immediate effect,” he said.
Hon. Jawara thanked the UDP for giving him the opportunity to serve his people in his capacity as a ward councilor.
“I will use this opportunity to thank the mighty UDP for granting me a rare opportunity or privilege to serve as the flag bearer for my ward in the 2018 local government elections and came out victorious. Through this, I was able to serve my people and brought so many developments and improved the lives and livelihoods in my ward and beyond,” he said.
Hon Jawara went on to say that he holds no grudges against anyone and wished his old colleagues well.
“Furthermore, I am using this opportunity to make it clear to the party that I have no grudge against anyone and the decision came as my own will to transform my political career into a new approach, and I am pretty much sure that this decision will be understood by party executives, and it’s general members. Finally, thank you for your relentless efforts and support throughout my tenure and I pray that the party achieve its objectives and goals in transforming The Gambia in to a better place for its electorates and beyond,” he concluded.
