The Upper Badibou Development Association, fondly called Upper Badibou No Politics, has intervened to restore peace between Kiang Jiffarong and Sankandi amid allegations of black magic during a football match between the two villages.

“There was a football game between Sankandi and Jiffarong, after the game, a lot of people fell down due to alleged black magic. It was said that the Jiffarong players and fans fell down more due to the black magic, they accused Modou Darboe from Sankandi of using the black magic on them, but Modou Darboe also refuted the allegations of using black magic on them, so he sued the people of Jiffarong for accusing him. Journalist Adama Fadera contacted our association (Upper Badibou Development Association, fondly called Upper Badibou No Politics).

“Our president, Momodou Lamin Dibba, our chairman, Lang Marong and one of our members, Lang Mama Dibba, the Farafenni Alkalo and some of the Kabilo members in Farafenni also joined us to do the mediation between the two villages in Kiang. We first visited Jiffarong and spoke with the elders before proceeding to Sankandi, where we spoke to Modou Darboe and other elders. Due to the joking relationship between Badibou and Kiang both villages accepted our cola nut and decided to bring peace between them. Modou Darboe has also promised to withdraw his case against Jiffarong,” Yankuba Sawo, PRO, Upper Badibou Development Association, told Kerr Fatou.

Initiated in 2017, the Upper Badibou Development Association, fondly called Upper Badibou No Politics, is a non-political association based in Badibou. They previously solved problems with caste systems in Badibou and a lot of political differences between people.
