In a New Year’s message to the Gambian public, Habib Secka, the Second Deputy Leader of ‘APRC No To Alliance,’ expressed his endorsement for reconciliation with Fabakary Tombong Jatta’s APRC, emphasizing its significance in achieving unity within APRC under the leadership of former President Jammeh.
“Regarding reconciliation with Fa Bakary Tombong Jatta, I emphasize its importance in achieving unity within APRC under the leadership of H.E. President Jammeh Babili. I refrain from responding to unwarranted allegations out of respect for all citizens. My focus is on working tirelessly for the APRC, for Babili Mansa, and for the greater good of The Gambia,” he said.
Addressing the recent expulsion of himself and seven other members from the ‘No To Alliance’ faction through a press release, Secka disputed the claims, urging people to disregard the alleged letter of expulsion. He declared the baseless nature of the accusations and emphasized his commitment to continue working within the party principles to unite rather than divide.
“ALLEGED LETTER OF EXPULSION FROM THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR eight PROMINENT MEMBERS OF THE PARTY:
Disregard the press release suggesting the expulsion of myself and seven colleagues from our positions. These claims are baseless, and we will continue our duties within the party principles. Let us unite the Party instead of fostering division,” he said.
Refuting suggestions to rebrand the ‘APRC No To Alliance,’ Secka asserted his unwillingness to endorse any attempt to alter the image of APRC without direct instructions from Babili Mansa. He also denied allegations of aligning with President Barrow, reaffirming his loyalty to APRC and urging fellow Gambians to reject negative narratives. Despite facing challenges such as unfair commentary, misinformation, and baseless accusations, Secka said he remains resolute in his commitment to APRC’s values.
“I will not endorse any attempt to alter, rename, or distort the image of APRC without direct instructions or advice from Babili Mansa. I vehemently deny allegations of any potential alignment with President Barrow. My loyalty lies with APRC, and I urge fellow Gambians to reject negative narratives and preserve the positive legacy left by Babili Mansa. Despite the challenges of being targeted with unfair commentary, misinformation, and baseless accusations, my commitment to APRC’s values remains resolute,” he said.
Habib Secka currently serves as the Second Deputy Party Leader of the ‘APRC No To Alliance’ faction.
