Deputy Spokesperson of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction confirmed holding coalition talks with parties except the United Democratic Party.

“We have discussed with other political parties for a coalition. But we don’t want to reveal the names yet. If we agree with anyone we will come out and say it.

“UDP never approached us yet. I once had it on rumours that they will come to APRC for us to sit and talk, but I don’t know anything about them,” Dodou Jah confirmed to Kerr Fatou.

Meanwhile, he ranked President Barrow, the National People’s Party [NPP] flagbearer above his colleagues in other parties ahead of the December 4 presidential election.

“Right, what I am hearing is talking, and talk is cheap. Anyone can talk. For me, I didn’t see anyone better than the current president [Adama Barrow]. I didn’t see any action. All of them are just talking,” he said.

Asked about the possibility of his party [APRC] forming a coalition with NPP as per his ranking of the leadership, Jah said that will be based on the agreement the NPP and APRC will have.  However, Mr Jah confirmed talks between APRC and NPP, but said it was not yet at executive level.

“Our negotiation will be in the interest of the Gambia and our parties’ interest,” he added.

Further asked, if Jammeh’s return will form part of the interest his party will have with any party it will go into coalition with, the Deputy APRC Spokesperson said that is not an interest but a right for the former president to come back.
