Yankuba Darboe, the Chairman of Brikama Area Council (BAC), has expressed dissatisfaction with BAC CEO Modou Jonga in a memo seen by Kerr Fatou. Darboe accused Jonga of either deliberately or unintentionally refusing or failing to provide his office with the information he requested.

“Since swearing into charge of BAC, as the elected Chairman of the people of West Coast Region, I have requested your office to furnish me with all the information i require about the BAC in order to be able to effectively perform my duties as the Chairman of BAC, but disappointedly, you have either deliberately or unintentionally

refused or failed to provide my office with that requested information.

“Today marks the 3rd week of my tenure in office, and I still do not know what the bank account balances are of all the accounts of BAC, the transactions that took place in the accounts since I assumed office, etc. I further do not have any records of the daily revenues being collected or received by the council. Neither do I know of the payroll of anyone in this institution that I am heading. To put it quite bluntly. I am more clueless about this institution today than I have ever been,” he said.

The newly elected Chairman Yankuba Darboe said the situation is quite ‘simply’ unacceptable and a serious dereliction of duty on the CEO’s part.
