A lawyer and Executive Member of the United Democratic Party (UDP)

A prominent United Democratic Party (UDP) member, Yankuba Dabo (Yanks) has confirmed that he would contest in the West Coast Region Chairmanship in next year’s local government elections, if chosen by the party.
“GAMBIA POLITICO: I AM OFFICIALLY IN THE RACE. After much reflection, I had to accept the fact that I cannot continue to be on the sidelines of politics to criticise, those in the hot seat of politics, whilst running away from the challenge myself,” he said in statement on his Facebook Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Dabo said he was challenged by both his friends and his fellow party members to do so
“I have been challenged by friends and fellow party members of West Coast Region to throw my hat in for consideration for UDP nominations for the Chairmanship election of the West Coast Region, The Gambia. I wish to notify all that I have accepted the challenge and will be submitting my application for consideration to the UDP national secretariat! So I implore that you all wish me luck!! If I succeed, well and good, but if I don’t, then will support anyone chosen by the mighty UDP for West Coast Region,” he concluded.
