Kassim Fadera, a victim of unlawful arrest and detention by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), alleged that he was detained in a toilet by Police Commissioner Ousman Jatta of Soma Police Station.
According to him, Officer Commanding, Ousman Jatta ordered his subordinate, Gaye Sowe to lock him in a toilet, which he did.
He said while in the toilet he could not breath because the place was smelling with urine before one Binta Taal unlocked him from the toilet.
“I am not a trouble maker but fight for my rights and for other people rights”. He continued.
He appeared at the commission on Tuesday in connection to the alleged violation of his right after he was asked to vacate the shop he was occupying belonging to the Mansakonko Area Council, and he said that was an instruction from Chief Yahya Jarjusey.
Mr. Fadera said he initially refused to vacate the place because vacating it was not in the public interest, but later agreed when he was taken by the NIA and asked to leave.
He alleged that one Modou Jarju and Faye took him to a corner, opened a Cell and asked him to get in, but he refused and they beat him until his knee dislocated.
