The University of the Gambia has been granted more time to complete its 2019 financial statement and 2021 activity report and financial statements.

The development was followed by an appeal to the National Assembly Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) by the UTG Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Herbert Robinson.

Robinson said that the UTG needs more time to finalize its  reports and present them to the committee.

Justifying his appeal, he said his institution is facing some challenges in completing the reports.

Professor Robinson assured the committee that the 2019 activity reports will be submitted end of July, while those of  2021 will be submitted on 20th September 2022.

Hon. Fatou Cham, a committee member urged the UTG to gather its challenges and strategise a mechanism to overcome them so that the committee can depend on those facts to guide them where needed, “because the University is a very important insitution in the Gambia”.
