The University of The Gambia (UTG) today began a two-day retreat at a local hotel in Kanilai.
The event aims to foster a harmonious working relationship, trigger a strategy for a seamless academic session and an improved quality of service delivery by various stakeholders at the University of the Gambia.
The theme of the retreat is ‘University of The Gambia in Perspective: The Future Plan’.
“Dear colleagues, our institution has been grappling with many challenges in terms of resources, operations, perceptions, and unhealthy interpersonal rapports. This synergy therefore aims to crystallize some deeply entrenched misconceptions regarding university governance and the overall business of running a university.
“We envisage that this gathering would usher in new ideas, solidify our professional engagements and enhance information sharing,” Professor Pierre Gomez, the Vice Chancellor said in his opening statement.
Participants at the event include the registrar, Deans, Directors, Professors, Senior lecturers, administrative and support staff of the UTG.
The event is scheduled to end on Tuesday (tomorrow) at the birthplace of the former President Yahya Jammeh.
