UDP’s national president resigns

The Bakau-born politician, Dembo Bojang, has resigned as the national president of the United Democratic Party on Thursday.

Popularly known as Dembo By Force, the old politician was the national president of the UDP until his resignation on December 12.

Dembo has recently been criticized by UDP supporters for his proximity to President Adama Barrow, a former member of the party who is now forming his own party.

Dembo has not explained why he resigned in his one-sentence letter.

Barrow resigned from UDP to contest as the presidential candidate of the coalition 2016 which defeated former dictator Yahya Jammeh.
