The Gambia Police Force’s Deputy spokesperson, ASP Muhammed Y. Darboe, has confirmed the arrest of two suspects in connection with a drowning incident in Tanji village that resulted in the death of a 26-year-old Gambian national. The suspects have been identified as Modou Jaw, a 37-year-old Senegalese national, and Bakary Jaiteh, a 23-year-old Gambian citizen. They are accused of being involved in the tragic event.
According to the police, the Incident happened on Saturday, 19/08/2023 in Tanji village in the West Coast Region.
“The police arrest two suspects for their alleged involvement in a drowning incident at Tanji. The captain is a Senegalese and the other one is a Gambian,” the Deputy spokesperson of the police told Kerr Fatou.
The police identified the victim as Tairu Jagne, a 26-year-old Gambian National and resident of Tanji.
