Suwadou Jammeh, the best-performing student in the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination

In a continued effort to empower and uplift Gambian youth through education, Trust Bank on Thursday awarded Suwadou Jammeh, the best-performing student in the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), with a certificate of excellence and a cash prize of D25,000.
The award, designed to promote quality education, aims to acknowledge Suwadou’s remarkable achievement and inspire future generations to follow her exemplary path.
Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, Deputy Managing Director Omar Mboob emphasized that Suwadou’s accomplishments reflect not only her own dedication but also serve as a source of motivation for her peers and all students aspiring for academic success.
“Suwadou became known to us when she was recognized as the top-performing student in her Grade 9 examinations three years ago. Her outstanding performance then earned her the top award in the prestigious Excellence in the Millennium Awards from Trust Bank, an accolade given to those who exemplify exceptional talent and commitment to their studies. It was clear from that early recognition that Suwadou was destined for greatness,”Today, as we honor her exceptional success in the WASSCE, we are reminded of the very qualities that Trust Bank values and celebrates: dedication, excellence, and perseverance. Suwadou’s achievements not only reflect her personal hard work but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for her peers and for all students striving for excellence. Her story is a testament to the power of setting high goals and working tirelessly to achieve them,” he said.
Expressing her gratitude, Suwadou Jammeh thanked Trust Bank for its unwavering support of education in The Gambia, acknowledging the significant impact the institution has had on her academic journey and the lives of many students.
“As a three-time recipient of the Trust Bank Excellence Award, first as the overall best student in grade 7 and then in 2021 for achieving the best GABBECE results, I can attest that your awards have inspired me to work harder and continue to pursue success. Trust Bank, under the excellent leadership of Njilan Senghore, has played a crucial role in my educational journey, and I will forever be grateful,” she said.
The Principal of Methodist Academy, Mrs. Hanna Harding, praised Trust Bank for its dedication to supporting education in the country while highlighting her school’s commitment to consistently producing excellent students.
Chairman of the Conference of Principals, Muhammed Jabbi, also expressed appreciation to Trust Bank for recognizing Suwadou’s outstanding performance, underscoring the importance of such support for educational excellence.
