Trust Bank Donates D150,000 Worth of Items to Soma District Hospital

As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts in The Gambia’s healthcare sector, Trust Bank on Thursday donated essential items worth D150,000 to Soma District Hospital in the Lower River Region. The donation included office equipment, electronic devices, detergents, and other crucial supplies aimed at supporting the hospital’s operations and services.

The presentation ceremony, held at Soma District Hospital, was led by Mr. Omar Mboob, the Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank. In his remarks, Mr. Mboob emphasized the bank’s dedication to strengthening healthcare delivery in the region.

“Today marks a special occasion, as we embark on a new chapter of collaboration with Soma District Hospital. Although this is our first year working together, it is a relationship that we value deeply. At Trust Bank, we believe in the importance of supporting healthcare institutions that are dedicated to improving the lives of the communities they serve, and Soma District Hospital plays a crucial role in providing essential healthcare services to this region,”

He added that the donation, valued at D150,000, was carefully tailored to address the hospital’s identified needs, following consultations with its management.

“We are proud to announce a donation of D150,000 to the hospital. This donation has been made in alignment with the hospital’s most pressing needs, as identified through our close engagement with the hospital management. We understand that every community has unique healthcare challenges, and it is our commitment to ensure that our contributions make a meaningful difference,” He Said.

Mr. Mboob further expressed Trust Bank’s commitment to a lasting partnership with the hospital. 

“Though this is our first year of partnership, Trust Bank is committed to fostering a long-term relationship with Soma District Hospital. We believe that together, we can help address the healthcare needs of this community, and we look forward to expanding and strengthening this partnership in the years to come,” He Said.

Regional Health Director for the Lower River Region, Mr. Yorro Bah, expressed gratitude to Trust Bank for the donation, describing it as a commendable act of corporate citizenship. 

“This is a very kind gesture from trust Bank, and we want to say a very big thank you for this wonderful gesture these materials will go a long way in helping the people of LRR,” He Said. 

Amadou Jallow, the Officer-in-Charge of Soma District Hospital, also thanked Trust Bank and assured them that the donated items would be put to good use to enhance service delivery.

The donation marks a step forward in addressing healthcare challenges in the Lower River Region and highlights the critical role of public-private partnerships in advancing community health services.
