In line with its corporate social responsibility towards the healthcare sector in The Gambia, Trust Bank made a significant donation on Wednesday to the Male Ward of Basse District Hospital in the Upper Region. The items, valued at 200,000 dalasis, included oxygen tanks, office equipment, electronic devices, detergents, and other essential supplies.

During the presentation ceremony at Basse District Hospital, Mr. Omar Mboob, the Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting the hospital.

“Today marks another milestone in the longstanding partnership between Trust Bank and Basse General Hospital. For over a decade, we have worked together to support the health and well-being of the people of this region. Our collaboration has been guided by the principle that good health is fundamental to a prosperous community and that every individual, regardless of gender, deserves access to quality care,

“This donation is particularly special, as it is directed towards the male ward of the hospital. We recognize that much of the healthcare support and attention tends to focus on maternity and women’s health, but it is equally important to remind ourselves that the health of our men is just as crucial. With this donation, we hope to highlight the significance of men’s health and encourage the ongoing focus on improving healthcare for all segments of our society,” He Said.

Mr. Mboob further emphasized that the donation amount is not merely a figure but a testament to the bank’s dedication to the hospital’s needs.

“The amount of D200,000 is not just a figure; it is a reflection of our commitment to responding to the hospital’s most pressing needs. This donation is made up of items requested by the hospital’s management, ensuring that our contribution aligns directly with the real, on-the-ground needs of Basse General Hospital. It is part of our ongoing policy at Trust Bank to work closely with healthcare institutions, to engage with them, and to ensure that our donations make a true and lasting impact,” He Said.

Amadou Jallow, the Officer in Charge of Basse District Hospital, expressed gratitude to Trust Bank for their generosity and pledged to encourage all hospital staff to bank with Trust Bank.

Oumie Jallow, the Officer in Charge of the Medical Ward at Basse District Hospital, also thanked the bank, assuring that the donated items would significantly enhance service delivery at the hospital.
