The Gambia’s men team have today qualified to the 4×100m relay final at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
The Gambia finished 4th in the race with a timing of 33:77 seconds, but will now take the place of Ghana in the final that finished 3rd, following a technical violation by the Ghanaian team, resulting in their disqualification.
Team Ghana have made a last minute decision to rest one of their athletes, Joseph Paul Amoah on the anchor leg without informing race officials an hour to the race, as the rules require, which led to their disqualification from the competition’s final.
