A teacher injured the head teacher at Kuwonku Lower Basic School in the Upper River Region following an attack; Kerr Fatou has confirmed.

The incident occurred on 13th July 2021 between the hours of 17:30 to 18:00pm, when Babucarr Bojang [teacher] hit Foday Ceesay [head teacher] with an object on his head, causing injury, following a dispute, a source said.

The attack followed when the Ceesay alleged Bojang of 13 days unauthorised absenteeism [not consecutive], and informed the Ministry about it, which led to the deduction of the salary of the latter, the source added.

On 15th July, Bojang was arraigned in Basse Magistrate Court on 3 counts and convicted to a fine of D25, 000 as compensation to Ceesay, and D4000 on other charges. The family of the accused paid the fine, the source concluded.

Kerr Fatou has confirmed that both Ceesay and Bojang are currently with their respective families on Summer holiday.
