Steel Gambia Ltd donates 500 sets of food items to GNF-covid-19

As part of the support for covid-19, Steel Gambia Limited has on Monday donated 500 sets of food items to The Gambia National Fundraisers for covd-19 (GNF-19) to distribute them amongst needy families.
The donated items for each packages includes 25kg bag of rice, 4kg of sugar and four bottles of water.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Girish Patel, Assistant Manager, Steel Gambia Ltd, said that they donated the 500 sets of food items to the Gambia National Fundraisers for covd-19 to distributed them amongst needy families during this coronavirus crisis.
He added that they are doing this gesture to contribute their quota in assisting the needy Gambians during this trying moments of the pandemic.
“We are doing this donation to see all the Gambian people happy and as well in good health which is part of our motto of operation,” he said
Siam Bourji, a philanthropist thanked Steel Gambia Ltd for donating this gestures to the GNF covd-19. She added that the manager of Steel Gambia Ltd donated this food items to them after following their activities to the needy Gambians
Essa Faal, a member of the Gambia National Fundraisers for covd-19 thanked Mr. Mukesh Thakwani, general manager of Steel Gambia Ltd for donating this items to them to distribute it amongst needy Gambians during this trying times.
He said that the donation of the 500 packages food items will go a long way to help in their important exercise to the needy Gambians.
“We are doing this for no other purpose than to response to the call of the president and the government for all Gambians to come together and help one another in this great time of need.”
He went further to say that: “If we are to survive this disease, we will have to comply with the very simple instruction of the government to observe social distancing and to say at home for non-essential work.”
Mr. Faal added that government cannot do it all alone in spite of their best efforts and endeavors, adding that it is the responsibility of businesses and citizens in the country to help one another in this great time of need.
According to him, so far they have provided much-needy food assistance to 1,423 families, noting that with this generous donation, they will hit the milestone and target of approximately 2000 families.
“Our fundraising has been quite successful and we hope that from what we already received we will be able to help another 2000 Gambian families,” he said. “For people who are very familiar with what is happening upcountry, you will agree with us it will also contribute significantly in alleviating the need of a good number of people.
Mr. Faal went further to thanked other institutions and organization who have helped them throughout their process to help needy Gambians.
