The Minister of Youths and Sports has rescinded the decision of the National Sports Council which suspended three executive members of the Gambia Football Federation, Kerr Fatou has learned.
The NSC has issued a statement on Tuesday suspending president of GFF Lamin Kaba Bajo, Mr Ebou Faye and Bakary Jammeh “with immediate effect”.
The NSC said its decision was based on the recommendation of the National Assembly Committee on Youths and Sports which is chaired by Alagie Darboe.
NSC said the National Assembly committee’s recommendation was based on the outcome of the investigation into the allege tax fraud involving the officials of the Gambia Football Federation and legal advice from the ministry of justice.
However, impeccable sources within the sports ministry who prefer anonymity told Kerr Fatou that minister Hadrammeh Sidibeh has rescinded the decision.
Meanwhile, the sports minister Sidibeh has confirmed to The Standard that he has rescinded the decision.
