The Gambia’s ministry responsible for religious affairs has reported the arrival this morning in Saudi Arabia of all the intending pilgrims from The Gambia.
“Alhamdulilah!!!! All pilgrims arrived safely.
“The second and last flight have finally arrived in Medina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia earlier today. All pilgrims were processed and taken to their various hotels as required, ” the ministry said in a statement on Facebook this morning.
The Ministry thanked the Government, the members of the Hajj Commission, Gambia International Airline, Hajj operators, the pilgrims and their families, and all stakeholders for their individual and collective efforts in actualising the first stage of Hajj 2022.
The last batch of the intending pilgrims left Banjul International Airport Monday afternoon after being denied entry into Malian airspace 2 hours after takeoff in Gambia for not obtaining flight over permit over the West African country. The matter was later sorted out leading to the success.
