The president of the Republic of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, at a gathering with Muslim Elders, on Monday, said that The Gambia is a small country but very difficult to govern because of the different ideologies and beliefs.

“The Gambia is a small country but very difficult to govern. The decisions are not the same, the thinking is not the same, and the way we see things is different. Politics is treacherous here because the opposition thinks the President’s name should always be dragged through the mud to effect change to a new dispensation. But by this mindset, they forget God is the giver. They forget it is God who destined who will be president.”

The president made those comments while addressing Muslim elders at the Statehouse on Monday at an event commemorating the end of Eid Al-Fitr [Koriteh].
