His Excellency, President Adama Barrow, has called on his cabinet to work together and fulfill the late Vice President Badara Alieu Joof’s ambitions for the country.
The President made these remarks earlier today while sending his condolences to the family of the country’s late Vice President, Badara Joof, who passed away on Wednesday in India after a brief illness.
“I will encourage all my colleagues and cabinet Ministers, for us to continue working together and make sure we fulfill the ambitions that late Badara Joof has for the country,” He said.
President Barrow described his Vice President’s death as “very sad and untimely.”
“Badara’s death is very sad, difficult to calm and come to terms with. It is very untimely, but we need to have faith, accept it, and move on. It is a mourning period for the Gambia. I urged all my fellow Gambians to mourn the late Badara Joof. This is the first time a sitting Vice President passes on during active service. But it is destined that way. We cannot change destiny. We will always accept it in good faith.” President Barrow stated.
His Excellency President Adama Barrow concluded his speech by thanking the people for their support during these trying moments.
