Gambian leader Adama Barrow has declared Tuesday and Wednesday a public for the commemoration of Eid-ul-Adha.

The officially declared day for Eid-ul-Adha in Gambia is Tuesday but a section of the population including Baddibou is praying on Wednesday.

Gambia normally prays on the same day with Saudi Arabia, a controversial decision that some people did not agree with.

Saudi prays on Tuesday but Gambians who are praying on Wednesday say they have sighted the moon last Sunday.

“On behalf of the First Family and the government, the President would like to wish the entire Muslim Ummah a joyous and blessed Eid celebrations,” said a statement from the presidency.
