This mayoral and chairmanship elections will be the third elections in democratic Gambia since December 2016.
Gambian leader, President Adama Barrow, has declared Saturday May 12 a public holiday, a statement from the presidency has stated.
Gambians head to polls on Saturday to elect their regional government representatives.
“While the president wishes everyone a fruitful election day, he urges all and sundry to exercise their civic duty in peace,” the statement added.
