An unidentified gun man has disappeared into the wind after attacking Jah Oil patrol station in Brikama and made away with money, the police spokesperson David Kujabi has confirmed to Kerr Fatou.
The robber who took unspecified amount of money had attacked the station at 10 a.m on Monday when the cashiers were readying their day’s gains for a deposit at the bank.
The gun man did some warning shots but did not shoot anyone. He then took a taxi and ran into the Nyanbai forest amidst police pursuit.
“We are keeping our fingers crossed, hoping the police team searching the area will get to him,” Kujabi has said.
Kujabi said the gun man was shooting at the police but no one was hit. “He was shooting in the air,” he said.
“I don’t think he has any intention to kill anyone.”
The police are yet to identify the armed robber or secure any concrete lead that can lead to the robber.
