Gambian police have granted a permit to Gambia Democratic Congress to hold a rally in Jimara few days after their initial denial.
The police came under strong criticism after they denied the GDC permit to hold a rally on December 14 and 15 in Toumana and Jimara.
On Wednesday, the GDC leader Mama Kandeh criticized the police for denying them a permit, saying the country is creeping towards dictatorship.
Kandeh leads the third largest political grouping in Gambia.
