One Sulayman Kongira widely referred to ‘Junkung’ and Tombong Ceesay natives of Basori village have been arrested by the police over land conflict between Basori and Duwasu villages.
The incident took place yesterday in the West Coast Region. The duo have been in detention since yesterday, according to our source.
They were kept at Giboro police station yesterday where they passed the night, and transferred to Brikama police station this morning, the source added.
Their arrest is in relation to the demolitions of houses built on a land they with other natives of Basori claimed as theirs. They alleged that, the said land was sold to owners of the demolished houses by the people of Duwasu, the village nearby Basori village. Then, they demolished those houses yesterday which led to their arrest, our source concluded.
