PMO Transformed Into Ministry Of Public Service

The Personnel Management Office (PMO) is now changed to the Ministry of Public Service, Administrative Reform, and Policy Coordination and Delivery. 

“I am directed to inform you that the Personnel Management Office (PMO) has been transformed into a Ministry of Public Service under section 71(1) of the 1997 Constitution,” a missive from the PMO dated 22nd August 2022 stated. 

The letter copied to the Hon. Minister of Public Service Secretary General, Office of the President Chief of Staff, and Office of the President said, the new ministry under Hon. Baboucarr O. Joof would be in charge of the Public Service, administrative reforms, policy coordination and delivery.

 “This is part of the ongoing Civil Service reforms geared towards making the service more effective and efficient. The new minister has the general oversight over the Public Service covering areas of policy formulation and institutionalizing a culture of discipline, excellence, and accountability in the Public Service,” the missive added.

The written communication concluded that hence, all correspondence to the Permanent Secretary of the Personnel Management Office (PMO), should be kindly addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Service.
