Pa Modou Mbowe, Former PRO of APRC ‘No To Alliance’

Pa Modou Mbowe, the former Public Relations Officer of APRC ‘No To Alliance,’ has called for a grand coalition involving the APRC, UDP, PDOIS, GDC, and Team Sobeya to unite in a bid to unseat President Adama Barrow in the 2026 elections.
“Jammeh used to be blamed for the death of even cats, but just look at today, our children are dying because of the poor healthcare system, and our women are dying in labor. People are dying because of oxygen. The education system is bad. Should we glorify that and continue to blame UDP for everything? I want Gambians to wake up and see our country. There is no one party that can unseat Barrow. I am the one who said APRC should form an Alliance with UDP but also with GDC, PDOIS, Essa Faal, and everyone. Let’s work it out and make a change. That will be signed in an MoU. I am the one who said it, and I will continue saying it until it happens. And if it does not happen, I will know Gambians don’t want anything,” said Mbowe.
Mbowe also criticized what he described as hypocrisy among Gambians, which he believes has contributed to the current state of affairs.
“We are still in this situation because we have a lot of hypocrites in the Gambia. We had the best, but instead of supporting it we decided to remove it, and now we found ourselves in a situation that we cannot describe. We have to accept that Barrow is from UDP, he just stood as independent during the coalition. That’s where he contested the parliamentary election against Mama Kandeh. So he was UDP until Fabakary Tombong Jatta convinced him to betray UDP and bring APRC,” he said.
Furthermore, he urged Gambians to stop blaming the opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) and to hold the government accountable for the country’s challenges.
“We cannot continue to blame UDP for anything because they are not in power, we are not paying our taxes to UDP or Ousinou Darboe. The hypocrites that are talking are the ones supporting Barrow under. There is no one party that can unseat Barrow. We tried it in 2021, but it didn’t work. President Jammeh is the only one who can remove Barrow here if he contests. Why don’t we come up with a coalition and prepare ourselves for 2016? We cannot continue listening to one side who is benefiting. We cannot continue blaming UDP because they are not in the Government. Yes, they have Mayors but the NPP and Adama Barrow are the government, they are the ones elected,” he said.
