Famara Bojang, a brother of the alleged shooter who killed two paramilitary officers at Sukuta Traffic Light, has denied his brother’s involvement in the killing of the police officers and said his brother was at work when the incident happened.
” Ousainou Bojang and I have the same parents. Before the recent shooting incident that occurred yesterday, Ousainou had been embroiled in a situation with one of his friends concerning a white woman. This matter had been reported to the Brusubi Police Station. However, it was later discovered that the individuals involved were actually scammers, and Ousainou’s friend had been wrongly accused. Unfortunately, Ousainou did not realize this at the outset. He even accused our family of taking his friend’s side in the dispute over the white lady.
“He underwent a significant weight loss due to the white lady situation. I advised him against allowing this issue to affect his mental health, emphasizing that our family has no history of mental health problems. However, during the recent shooting incident, Ousainou was at work. He works as a security guard for a white man at a guest house in Brufut. He was on the night shift when the incident occurred yesterday. Ousainou reached out to me before I finished my work shift, expressing his desire to apologize for accusing our family of taking his friend’s side in the white lady dispute. I suggested that he should apologize to others, as I had already forgiven him. His workplace is located next to our compound, separated by a fence, and the guest house owner, a white man, can confirm that he was indeed at work last night.” Famara Bojang told Kerr Fatou over the phone.
The Office of the Inspector General of Police Force confirmed the arrest of Mr. Ousainou Bojang from Brufut Bojang Kunda in connection to the recent shooting at the Sukuta traffic light junction, which tragically resulted in the loss of two police officers and left one in critical condition.
The police say the operation to apprehend the suspect was executed with precision, leading to his capture in Jululung, Cassamance.
